Mobile is a channel that any retailer of any size can take advantage of. It’s a platform where all retailers can all compete. It’s a way to get bespoke or specialised products easily out to market and it’s an easy way to reach a wide demographic of customers.

Mobile shopping is growing at a rapid rate. Statistics from Google show that up to 15% of online traffic is via mobile. This means that not having a mobile site is like closing your website for one day a week.

In a recent study which OnePoll undertook on our behalf 76% of SME independent retailers said their website hadn’t been optimised for mobile, but 89% said they wanted to go mobile.

Barriers to going mobile

Many small retailers think that mobile commerce is a tool that is only for large retailers. This simply isn’t true. In our study we asked retailers what their perceived barriers were to going mobile. The main responses were cost, time and technological requirement.

But going mobile doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming.
