I am planning to deliver a number of webinars across a variety of topics. 3 webinars are scheduled already and a number more are in the pipeline. All our sessions are offered so you can get involved live, having your questions answered during the session, but if you can’t make the live sessions the links to the recorded sessions will also be published on www.independentretail.co.uk/resources. To find out what we have on offer, read on!
An Interview with the REAL “Queen of Shops”…
In the interview I will ask her to share the secrets of her success and will also pose pre-submitted questions from those who register for the session. We will talk about how her in-store events have become much anticipated with her customer base, how she has become a destination store that people visit from miles around, and how ecommerce has really been her platform for growth. We’ll also talk about how customer experience is central to everything she and the team do, and, the importance of that team…
During the session attendees will not only hear about what makes this independent retail business such a success but will also get to see some fantastic images of the store, the visual merchandising, the windows and from the various in-store events that they run, to bring to live the WOW factor that underpins their brand proposition.
This is a great opportunity for any independent retailer to gain an insight into how Deryane, and her team at The Dressing Room, have been able to consistently see off strong competition, winning awards against even some of the most well known chains.

Playing your part in Keeping Towns Alive
On Thursday 14th March at 6:30pm I am hosting a webinar with guest presenter Chris Wade, CEO of Action for Market Towns. The session is entitled “Playing your part in Keeping Towns Alive”
Chris will share experiences on how retailers and town team teams can keep the bustle in their High Streets. Chris says “Through our Towns Alive initiative, we have hundreds of examples of how local businesses and communities have made a difference and kept people coming in to town. Some of that is about inspiring projects and creative marketing; some of it is about understanding issues and doggedly following processes that work.”
In this webinar Chris will touch on both aspects, helping you to help your town and its businesses, stay alive.
This webinar will interest anyone – retailer, consumer, member of the council – who is interested in learning what it takes to keep our towns alive. We look forward to sharing with you. To find out more and to register see https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/149538318
Celebrating Independent Retail throughout July
On Monday 18th March at 6:30pm I will be delivering a webinar “Planning ahead for Independent Retailer Month UK 2013” to help anyone interested in supporting Independent Retailer Month 2013. As Independent Retailer Month is now in it’s 3rd year, I want to make sure that 2013 is the biggest and best yet!
Whether you are a retailer, a local trade organisation, a town-team or a local council, this campaign is an opportunity for everyone to do something positive to celebrate the important role independent retailers have in our communities and our local economies. For more details about the campaign see
In this session I will share learnings from the last 2 years, from both sides of the Atlantic, and will introduce some of the ways that individual retailers, groups of retailers and whole towns can get involved, increasing community engagement, footfall and sales throughout July. I will also advise as to what support is available from the campaign team and how you can tap into that.
This webinar is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the campaign to get some ideas and to ask the questions they need to ask about how to move it forward in their local area. To find out more and to register see https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/791490110
